Tanya Nielsen Founder of Nieta Studios

 

Tanya Nielsen is a passionate music teacher with degrees in Music and Education from McGill University and Composition from Grant MacEwan University. She specializes in teaching voice and music in pop, jazz, and rock styles, with a focus on rhythm, expression, composition, projection, melody, improvisation, and more. Tanya believes that each student's individuality and artistic expression are essential, and she encourages her students to work with the music they connect with most. 

Tanya is also a certified trans voice teacher from, Renée Yoxon, and has extensive experience working with trans students to help them connect with their aligned and target voices. She understands the unique challenges that trans individuals face when it comes to their voice and is committed to creating a safe and encouraging space to explore their vocal range and expression. 

In addition to her teaching, Tanya has an extensive knowledge of recording and music technology and has produced music for over 15 years. She has self-produced two full albums and many singles and has mixed for other artists, including her students.  

Tanya's mission is to inspire others to sing the music they love while learning good vocal technique. She firmly believes that everyone can sing and create music and is committed to helping her students achieve their musical goals while staying true to their unique voice and artistic expression.
